Walking Friction

From the project:

Artwork Description:

A small square of photocopied acetate is pocketed and walked with, friction wears the toner away. This is
scanned and processed with a program written by the artist which opens and resaves the image thousands of times. As many photographers will know, processing a jpg like this creates square, pixelated artefacts in the image, a bi-product of jpg compression.

This meeting of analogue and digital friction seeks to materialise the digital and digitise experience. This work is part of an ongoing project where programming is used as an arts practice, medium or method.
